Here's a link to a Bike Rally - Someone come join me!

MEGA TSD!!! | Sang-Froid Riding Club

Saturday, 20 July!

((PASTE FROM SITE))
The Time Speed Distance rally is back, and this time it’s MEGA!

The rally starts at the historic ZigZag Inn (70162 E. Highway 26, Welches, OR 97067) at 10:00am on July 20th, 2013. First rider out at 11:00am. While details of the course are kept a secret until the day of the rally, riders should expect lots of backroads (200+/- miles), alpine lakes, a small gravel section (7 miles), amazing mountain views, and amateur lawnmower race spectating. An introduction to the TSD rally format will be given at the rider meeting that morning. Come on out and join in the fun and perhaps you will walk away with a trophy.

= = = =

Let me know if you're comin.....

Left at 9AM and home at 830PM! What a ride! There be some good, fun, great people out there as well as some total crazy maniacs! All is well for me and Crisis, but no less than 4 of some 40 people can not say the same and all for different reasons. We covered allot of ground, allot of different conditions and frankly the 6 miles of gravel was pretty easy/event free for most. The Motard gang did some passing here.

The classes; 35, 45 and 55mph. You pick your speed and ride that speed in hopes of matching the "unknown" distance. We were not given an actual destination or a map. The gravel was only 5 miles out of the first gate so most picked the 45 group thinking we stay on the mountain. We rode completely around the mt! Something I've never done!

Considering it was a time / distance event one would think sensible speed for the three classes would keep everyone at a reasonable speed but that wasn't the case for all. Some are just naughty..... :spank: :spank: :spank:

I had a great time, met a bunch of new people, found a couple of new roads to play on, rode the crap out of Crisis. I'll throw up some picture and maybe a map in the next 24 hours.

I'm pooped!

A couple pictures....
Mind you there was plenty of Good scenery, but I didn't stop to take pictures.

Met at Zig Zag, launch from Lolo Pass onto the the old powerline road, which turns to thin gravel for 6 miles.

Second Check point ended 50 miles back before Tygh Valley, stopping for lunch in Wamic - To the right - Crazy people were racing 50 mph lawn mowers, but the pictures were bad.

HAHA, the trophies....

No, I didn't earn a trophy. Came in a bit ahead of schedule too many times! GPS for WTF!

The good side of the high speed Honda that i let pass me on the narrow road. He bit it three corners up the road drifting into the trees at 45+ mph. Honda parts went flying before my eyes. He tumbled a couple times, got up and shock it off. Kinda scary watching a gas tank fly through the woods! Well, rider too.. .. .. Bike wash pretty trashed, tho you wouldn't know from this picture.

This is possible! Sunday for you? I posted a proposed route in the old Adventure bike thread. http://www.600riders.com/forum/usa-pacific/49202-fizzer-turned-adventure-bike-2.html#post549615

I can envision a ride up Marmontt, to Lolo Pass, over to 26, to Hwy 35, to Cooper Spur onto Lost Lake Road and then into Lost Lake thus avoiding the gravel. Think about that!
