So I've had my 2007 FZ6 for two years now, when I picked it up it had 99 km on the clock and was completely stock.
I've had it serviced at regular intervals over the last 2 years getting the basics done, fluids and filters etc and its currently touching 13,000 km.
Bike is running perfectly as far as I can tell.

I've been wondering if there are any age related issues that should be checked during its next service. Anything that perishes with time as opposed to use.
I've already seen to the stock tires after learning the hard way that tire rubber goes hard (and slippy) with age.

Brake seals are supposed to replaced every two year (per yamaha), But if their not dragging excessivly you should be ok.

To check easily, go for a short ride(couple miles, 50 MPH), stop with the rear brake only and quickly(and carefully) feel the front rotors. They should be cool
to the touch. If their hot, they need to be addressed.

You can do the same test for the rear.

For the S2 models, the fronts seem to stick the most...

Thanks for the heads up. I found that they started dragging last year but it only required a good cleaning of the pistons.
Have done the front/back only brake test now and they seem to be fine.
