Clear duct tape for protecting grab handles?

Hi, has anyone tried using clear duct tape for protecting the grab handles? I like to carry my Ventura bag over the pillion seat when I've got a lot of weight in it, and I think it's gonna rub. Cheers.

I've never heard of clear duct tape, but I do know of people who use 3M clear paint protection film to protect parts of their bikes. You can buy rolls of it, but this company provides pre-cut sections for tanks, along with offering other materials. Their discussion is here.

Other companies do the same for cars.

I'd probably try that rather than duct tape, which (if it behaves like ordinary duct tape) tends to fall apart in the weather and leave a sticky mess when removed.

*Edit* By saying I would try that, I'm not suggesting the Tankslapper product, but rather getting a roll and a sharp pair of scissors and playing around with it until you have something you like

Lamin-x Protective Films - Protect with Style

Order up a sheet or two of that, cut it, install it. That's the kind of film you're looking for.

I use the headlight film on my SV and it's awesome.

Edit: Since you're in AU, you could also try 3M's clear film too.
