I have an FZ6 engine to dispose of. What kind of places can i take it to? I am keeping the side covers and head, but I don't want the case, bottom end and trans. I live in SoCal. Thanks.

Either a metal re-cycle place or I'd bet someone here will snag it up for parts(locally).

If you can break it down, say the transmission is good, post it on Flea Bay... No matter matter what's wrong with the engine,
there's other valuable parts on it....

Thanks! Do you have an FJR1300? I ride one now and gave the FZ6 to my adult son.

I had an 04, Gen 1, I had to wait a year for. Sold it a couple of years ago as I didn't do any more LD rides and the FZ6 suits me better.

I make brackets to mount Yamaha helmet locks onto ALL year FJRs with no mods (since 2004). Also, I have a helmet lock bracket for the RIGHT side for ALL FZ6's

Here's my "old" 04 pic's plus some pic's of the locks/brackets I design and manufacture.

I like the helmet locks. How much? I just did a round trip to Texas and back 1343 miles each way. I was there for three months to help a brother in-law with his start up Construction business. I did a lot of weekend road trips while I was there. I added an exhaust system to the FJR for under $300. I like it better than the stove pipes that it came with. I keep the silencers in so it isn’t too loud, but sounds like it should have from the factory. FZ6 is a great bike! I never had a single complaint and it is perfect for one up. Mine is still in the garage for my son. I need to finish putting it back together. My wife rides on the Back with me now so I wanted the bigger bike. We live in Orange County CA and do weekend trips up and down the coast and to the mountain lakes. It’s perfect for that. If you want to add an exhaust, i found the cheap way. and it looks and sounds good. let me know. o don't sell them, but i can tell you how.
Here's some pics. Texas road trip, New Mexico, Exhaust, Pacific Coast Highway north of Malibu, Road trip to Az on the trusty FZ6 and Our first ride together was on the FZ6 riding up to Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead.

PM me with an e-mail address and I'll send you the options, pic's, part #'s, etc for your bike.

The attached, last smaller photo is in the Smokie Mountains on vacation several years ago..

There is an optional, left side bracket with electrical tab outlet as well:
