Nice. I used to do quite a bit of camping in the catskills every summer.

Be prepared to get wet due to morning rain. Everytime that i have camped there, you would get some morning showers. They wouldnt last long but still. Be careful out there on the road.

Also may i ask, how are you hauling your luggage there? You have paniers? Would love to see some pics.

Nice man, I love camping and hit up the catskills at least 3-4 times every summer.

To me there are two types of camping. The first kind is all about hiking, rock climbing, sleeping in a tent, cooking food over teh fire, etc. The second kind is about having an all out party in the woods with kegs, your best friends, and partying until the wee hours of the morning.

If you are interested in the latter, shoot me a PM. I know just the spot for you

Nice!! It's a beautiful area with lots of scenic roads.. I'm sure you'll have a great time

I have only been to the Catskills in the winter. We go snowboarding at Hunter mountain sometimes.

The pass up to Hunter mountain is great and would be lots of fun on the FZ6. It's not all that long though so I wouldn't go out of your way. There are probably longer more fun roads to ride.

kingston bridge very nice view

Wow, I see "possibly" room for a sleeping bag in your top case, but where did you store the tent???
Great pics! Wish the temp here would get out of the upper 90's so I could do some of that too! :(

thanks man. we did bring a huge blanket! the tent was in the topcase n we had those big angnes blow up sleeping pads and cocoon pillows

Thanks for the pics!

Looks like it was a blast!!

Now I can rethink getting panniers.

I didn't know that a top case can pack so much.

np. it was definitely a crazy adventure! top cases are AWESOME! the only downfall is that i have the GIVI Mono Lock not the monokey which mean i can only hold about 7lbs of gear in but i pushed it and had about 12-13lbs in there. also for the panniers the one i got are considered "mini" so im guessing that other ones would hold a lot more. they were they only "cheap ones" i could find that would work for 2up riding and i had them for more than a year n still holding up well

Did you ride wearing those? I ask cause I did that...tried to get off cheap, and the darn thing totally shredded on the bike LOL!
Looks like y'all had fun! Stay safe.

Wow, QwickFliCk, I'm impressed. That is a pretty minimalist approach. Check out my 'White Mountains' thread in this forum to see how my wife and i traveled.
