Hills ride sounds good, you all can bring the family, ive only got the girl friend to fit on, it might be a bit of a squease for the rest of you though, ha ha. Its a bit of a bummer that we are at each end of adelaide, but will start at one end and finish the ride at the other, sounds good to me.:noworries:

Well, not impressed with the amount of stock in the way of leather gear at Yammy world, although the young fella that I was talking to was helpful... (and he knows Jamie). I went to Peter Stevens in the city, man upstairs there is like heaven for bikers.

Am leaning towards the RST Rift gear at the moment...
Motorcycle Apparel
In Black/Silver... $400 for the jacket and $350 for the pants. Also thought about the Rift textile stuff... $350 for the jacket and $200 for the pants.

Gunna try 'em all on and see what's the go.

:)

I found it very hard to find gear that fitted me on the shelf, but did find that if i looked on the Web, ie: RJays site, i could pick what i wanted, and get them to get it in to the shop in the size that i thought would be correct, did this with one of my pairs of boots, and jacket...both times the gear fitted perfectly.

Got my waterproof Falco boots from the Peter Stevens clearance shop for $120...elsewhere they are being sold for $200, they have heaps of gear there...more jackets & pants than anywhere else i looked - and i mean heaps!

Cant recommend the rjays gear enough though, i now have a great pair of leather pants, and matching Jacket, which zips to the pants for $540 total.

They both fit perfectly, have logical stretch panels, and full armour everywhere you need it. Leather is very soft too.

If you want more info re the Rjays stuff, here is the details of who to contact if you are interested...remember 10% discount if you are a Yamaha platinum club member...

By the way i just removed those reflectors you were talking about at our ride, Aussiejules...lol, you bought my attention to them, and they have been bugging me ever since....wont matter soon anyway, as i just ordered a fender eliminator from resart, at $99, with number plate light. They now have them in stock...will let you know what it's like when i get it.

If anyone else is interested, the contact for resart is

And here is a picture of one on an fz6

Finally, Action Motorcycles in Sydney have nice Joe Rocket Nylon Jackets, with full armour, in all sizes, and three colours for $100, down from $300...might be worth a look, Stumbles?

That fender eliminator looks identical to mine , just a word of warning though, make sure you put the stock red reflector back on it .
I know a few people who got booked for not having it.will post a pic of mine.
I also had to trim my plate a little to fit inside the indicators.

I've seen some pics of the sides of the "hugger" being chopped up a bit, looks better when you can see the whole wheel. Might have a go at that some time. I like the look of OzFazer's wheels too with the polished edges, would like to give that a go too.

If you want the whole wheel polished, this is how much it costs from a mob up at Lonsdale, sent them an e-mail, and this is what i got back.

Hi Jamie
Thanks for your email. The price for polishing your wheels (including the removal of the paint) would be $180 each. We can also polish the forks and the price for these would be $70 the pair. Any queries just give us a shout.

Am guessing it would be even cheaper if they only polished the outside of the rim.

When i det the $$$ i am going to get my whole wheels done!

For me, it's cause i want my bike to look like "My Bike'. I think it's a by-product of Vanity....plus i just love to tinker, and every time i put something new on the bike, i feel like i have a new bike again...psychologists would have a field day with me!, and marketing people, love people like me!

Dunno where my fascination with riding gear comes from though, but i have to stop myself constantly from buying stuff i dont need, like just this week, it's been me looking at new gloves when i already have perfectly good ones already. Dont worry i stopped myself! this time!

OK Boys, i think it's time we got our S*&% together, and organise another ride, i cant wait till second weekend in July!

As per our last ride...with Aussiejules & Stumbles06, i am happy to have people come up to my place for Breakfast / Brunch first as i live in the hills and can cook - no need to bring anything, am happy to supply the tucker! If anyone is interested, i reckon we get together next Sunday - weather permitting.

Breakfast at 10.30am, as i have to work till 3am on Saturday Night!

Ride from Blackwood, through hills to Birdwood, then back down to Adelaide via Tea Tree Gully - this is just over 100km's, with a coffee break at Lobethal.

Whoever is in, PM me, to get address, details, etc.

This can be a nice cruise, no need to go racing...more than anything to get to know each other, and talk about the bike we all seem to love so much. :)

I'll have to see, gotta work Sunday night, but I do wanna show you something.

You know those Leo Vince pipes hanging on the wall at Yamaha World.... well, they are now partly fitted to the back of my bike (will finish in the morning.) Michael gave them to me for $880 and I got the nod from the missus, so I grabbed them.

Wow... Got the Leo's installed... What a difference.

I went for a short blat with the dB killers removed, but it was a bit droney, so I put them back in.

Very happy fella at the moment. Can't wipe the smile off my face.

That's fantastic. You got a great price, they offered them to me for over a $1000, but that was to fit them as well.

Cant wait to see & hear them.
