Turbo'ed diesels feel fast for the passengers (and somewhat for the driver, but passengers more), but are damn slow. Yours will probably do 0-100km/h between 6.5-7s, maybe closer to 6 with good remap and good launch? That's not fast unless you compare it with renaults and such.

No offence, but most car shops here live off bmw and vw diesel drivers, good business repairing those CR injectors, restoring turbos, computer locking new spare parts and fixing crappy overcomplicated suspensions.

E60 530d is a great car for driving on good fuel and on ideal roads, but fast or reliable it isn't.

You Ameicans qnd your petrol, I've always driven diesels and my current cage bmw 530 xd 231 bhp can run circles around most petrol cars, drives like a charm and I get 32 combined and 40 noncity driving about 23 pure urban. Dare I mntion it is quite bigger that that jeep, go european cars ditch those American boxes (don't murder me but that's my honest to god opinion). I had a 2006 VW Passat 2.0 tdi before the beamer and it was even more economical 36 combined and 45 extraurban.
