hi y'all
Last weekend was testriding weekend in a motorshop.
For 15€ i gave the Ducati 848 a try. For the 15€ I was permitted to drive for an half hour without any escort for the motorshop... Let the game begin! :rockon:
The looks of the bike are very nice. Agressive and hot looking. (I hope my fz6 won't read this thread).
The first thing I noticed when I hopped on the bike was the racin position. It was the first time for me on a supermotard, and it was BAD. the handlebars are very low, so all the weight was resting on my arms. I could live with that because it's a sportsbike after all. The foot pegs are to close to the rear wheel for comfort. I felt like a jockey on 134 horses.:Sport:
But the thing that bothered me the most, was that during the drive, my ass was shoving forward. So bad that my nuts where crushed against the tank.
This being said, we can go to the fun part.... the sound, handling and accelleration.:thumbup:
the moment I started the bike, it was like awaking a very angry pitbull. When the engine was revved, it sounded 100% badass. The throttle was very smooth. you could flip the throttle open with just 2 fingers and not even feel it.
personally I prefer some stiffniss in the throttle so I can maintain a constant speed.
Due to the racing position, I did not feel the accelleration as good as on my fazer. Suddenly I was riding 150km/h without feeling any adrenaline rush from accellerating.
When coming to a redlight, it was hard to keep it in a straight line the last 2 meters before the full stop. maybe it was because it's heavier on the front, I don't really know.
My friend who also testride it felt the same way.
conclusion:
looks: ++ chilly hot! (sorry fazer)
handling:+- not convinced (but that's maybe because I only ride it 30 minutes.)
riding position: -- bad (pain in the arms, and ballz)
sound: ++
pride: +1
If somebody would buy this as a present for my birthday, I would be very happy. But if I had to choose, I would still choose my fazer above the duc. What's the point in hard accelleration if you can't feel the rush I have with my fazer.
Note: This is a subjective review, I know that there are many people who would dissagree......
