New Motorcycle Chain With 20,000 Mile Warranty

It all comes down to loss of lubrication at the pins of the chain links. I'd be really interested in what a W X ring is supposed to look like, with 3 chambers to retain the all important goop......

It has not been my experience that more edges result in more sealing. An O ring that fills the gap completely has a thicker 'edge'.... that seems to me to put more ring between the lube and the outside world. Multiple folded layers that can move against each other don't seem likely to seal any better.

The 20K mile warranty..... is that 100% replacement cost, or is it prorated by miles? Who makes that determination?

As I can already get 20-25K miles out of an O ring chain, does this mean I could get 40K out of this magic chain?

I was sorta thinking the same thing  Im getting close to 50000 kilometres on my XJR & I still have the OEM chain so this should be good foe 100000 :D

Their regular x-ring chains last 20,000 miles easily if maintained well. Good old marketing. :D

Hi, New to forum and bikes. I was wondering as it's sort of relevant, what type of Lubricant to use on a chain? and at what sort of mileage? I got 12k on clock atm.
Cheers :D

Oil for a chain is almost as heavily thrashed around on forums as engine oil is.

I personally like to wipe the chain down with gear oil, after a ride. 90 weight on a warm chain will soak in, as the chain cools off. It's sticky enough to stay on the chain. (Just try and wash that sh*t off your hands...) If what you put on the chain keeps moisture off, and provides a barrier to oxygen, you will not have to deal with rust. If you use a wash cloth with a puddle of gear oil on it to wipe down the chain, you will wipe off the excess, and will not have very much 'fling'.

Whatever you use on the chain, frequent application is better than not frequent enough.

Whatever flings off, spray furniture polish will lift that stuff off easily.
