Putin finds amphorae while scuba diving in archeological site. There is even a video!
But of course! The amphorae were laying there for 15 centuries, waiting patiently until the Russian Super-Premier Vladimir Putin, who in his spare time performs heroics, such as shooting tigers and saving lives, would be around. They (amphorae) skillfully escaped all other archaeologists and divers saving themselves for the one and only – The Russian Leader, and at the right time, exposed themselves (which shouldn’t be surprising – they are not the only ones exposing themselves) to Him, from under layers of sand and/or sea life. They even prepared themselves by cleaning up, lest He swims by them without noticing.

Yeah, and those 1500 year-old amphorae are so solid, you can easily lift them by their handles.

:shakehead:My god…. unabashed, shameless example of yet another Potemkin Village. Or should we call it Putinkin Villages? What kind of cynicism one has to possess to pull off these things and believe that they are believable? It's not lack of smarts, it's a pure in-your-face, what-are-you-gonna-do-about-it cynicism. :shakehead: Any questions as to why I left the darn country?

I have an idea: i think Putin is Chuck Norris - he is so awesome, we are witnessing the second coming of him while his first incarnation is still among us.

ergo:

"fear of spiders is called aracnophobia, fear of tight spaces - claustraphobia, fear of Premier Putin is called Logic"

"Did you know that Putin had a role in Star Wars? He was THE FORCE"

Do you like putin???Those amphorae look very clean to me.....ummmm i wonder.

"like"?
My feeling can best be described as a mix of hatred, contempt and disgust with detached scientific curiosity on what the next thing he and his cronies will pull off.

For archeologies sake I hope it is a put on, those should have been left in-situ and properly documented before being disturbed :shakehead:

I seriously doubt he would a) be able to find them that easily and b) able to carry them the way its shown if they were not fakes. If I had to guess, few hours before the dive time, there was a boat on the spot with divers that placed the "treasure". Historically, Russians are known at painting the grass green and fixing up stuff before the big bosses arrive. Potemkin villages ;-)
