Ditto, I love it.

The gear I wear is due to things that have happened to me while riding a mountain bike.

I always wear gloves because one time I didn't wear gloves and went over my handle bars. I was going a short distance and didn't think I needed them, After needing to turn around and head to an ER to clean out the gravel from my palm I decided that I would never again ride a bike again with out gloves.

I once tried to ride with flip flops and some how after the first 5 min I managed to get it stuck in my chain. I still have those and the teeth mark is a reminder of what happened. I now have clipless shoes so it's not an option anymore.

Now that I'm on a motorcycle it makes sense to me to have these applied again. I will not ride with out gloves on, it actually feels strange to me to have bare skin on the handle bars. I also try to have on some kind of boots if not riding boots.

As for the helmet I like being in a full face helmet, it's like my own private world, keeps me safe from the flying insects that like to fly into your face, along with other flying objects from the tires of the car in front of you.

When I did my riders course the instructors said there is really only one rule:
If its too hot to gear up, then its too hot to ride.
I'm used to the time it takes for helmet, jacket, boots, pants, gloves, locks open/close gates etc. Its all parts of the whole shebang.
I can understand the thrill of the wind in your hair, rushing over your shoulders etc and the whole sense of speed and freedom

I'm in it for a long time not just a good time
