I bought ten tomato plants today.

How do I plant them in a total of 5 rows, whilst there must be 4 plants per row?

Draw a 5 pointed star. Place one tomato plant at every point and one plant where the sides intersect.

Well done guys! One of you mentioned "trees" not "tomato plants" - almost as though you had googled it as that was the wording of the original brain teaser ..... :rof: ;)

That was me......but in my defense that was how I originally heard it. In fact we (Boy Scouts) were planting pines at the time and the Scoutmaster, also our math teacher, posed it to us in the field to break up the boredom. Knowing how old I am it seems this one has been around a long time. :thumbup:

Bummer, thought someone got busted! So did you plant pines in star shapes?
