Signal Dynamics (SDC) Backoff XP Brake Light Module Install

I thought I would ask the experts before I try calling SDC.

I bought the Backoff XP Module to use with my stock brake/tail light. Everything I have read indicates the yellow wire is the brake light and the blue wire is the tail light. The 'simple' instructions say to select your desired flash pattern and use the correct module wire to just wire inline with the brake light.

Well I did that. Cut the yellow wire near the bulb and wired the white/red stripe wire between the two cuts (grounded to a frame bolt). No flash.

I attached photos of what I've done so far. ANY thoughts/advice is truly appreciated!

User error, I failed to attach the 'red' wire.
