If you're doing a full retrofit, it's different. If you just want the HIDs you'll need one H7 (high beam) and one H4 (low beam). My bike came with HIDs, but I definitely plan on doing a full retrofit in the future.

Branden07,

I believe a full retrofit would be referring to bulbs that have both hi/low beam options. If you notice on your standard bulbs for the FZ6 one bulb is the low beam, and always on, the other is a high beam and only comes on when you flip high beam on. The High beam side doesn't flip from low to high, it's only high. So if I'm not completely mistaken (it's possible!) a full retrofit would give both bulbs HID's with hi/low--also known as Bi-xenon's from what I've learned on the forums.

Granted I haven't done this yet because money runs the world.... good luck!

There's 2 basic options you could do for HID

1) As I describe above is HID Reflector bulbs.
Pros: Inexpensive, easy install, easy to reverse
Cons: Light is scattered in a range. You have to carefully aim them or you
blind oncoming cagers

2) HID Projectors:
Pros: Light quality is outstanding with nice crisp cutoff line
Cons: A bit more expensive, Significant more labor to install (search the forum), harder to reverse
