Here is a little recap of my traffic court trial today.
1:30 PM, I arrive at the local traffic court for my speeding ticket.
1:45 PM, the Judge calls my name.
- Present Your Honor, I reply
1:45.50 PM, the Judge calls the officer's name
- No reply.
1:46 PM, "Case dismissed. You're free to go" the judge announces.

2:00 PM I'm on my way home, and my $260 refund check is in the mail.

I love this country.

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who HAS had the cop show up; I don't think I've ever heard of it happening.

Congrats! :cheer:

I have heard of cases being taken under advisement by the Judge but not dismissed. Usually cases are also continued to the officers next course case, but there must be a valid reason for the officer missing court.

It's also very cool when the COP shows and yet calls "no recall". That gets dismissed also. I saw that today as well.

NICE!

curious about the story behind the ticket:popcorn:

really speeding?

was the cop a dick?

sweeet!!!! although now you have me wishing I had fought my ticket... awww who am I kidding I had that one comming.:D

Wow, this never happens in Cali bro. Cops get time and a half for showing up to court. That's why I always contest my tickets by "written declaration". What this means is to contest the ticket in writing, which means the cop gets no extra money for fighting it. Many of my friends who are cops say they throw these things away when they get notice of them because there is no pay out for it.
