I needed to get the front wheel off my motorcycle and figured my father might have the right tool to get it off. Surprisingly, he didnt. So I drove to Sears, Lows, Home Depot, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts and none of them had what I was looking for to fit the front fork. I just gave up looking and decided to try something else.

offbrand sprocket + Grinder = New Part!

I took the grinder and sanded the metal edges down off the sprocket to fit into the bike. It took only like 10 minutes after all that driving around I had to do. Simply with a little torque and it came right off.

Also you could have gotten a threaded rod connector for 1/2 threaded rod (Home Depot - threaded rod section) and the out side hex is perfect for that. You know you probably ruined Dad's special off brand socket. :rof:

A 5/8" spark plug socket turned around backwards will do it too.

In the old SBN R6 Fork Mod thread, I found the bolt w/a few nuts trick and that worked for me. The nuts snug up against the bolt head and the socket torques them. Finding an allen that size can be difficult. Sockets and nuts are much easier to find.

If anyone is interested, the right tool is a 19mm in hex key, normal hanging off a 1/2 inch drive, or 3/8 drive breaker bar...

but i too have fabbed up my own socket, before i found a 19mm, 3/8 drive in hex socket.
