Just got this (at least I got 35% off retail for being a RiderCoach! :thumbup

Tell that pesky wallet to shut it. Track riding is good for your health. Where are you doing track days? (I wanted that white cortech before I picked up my suit)
Let's see.... now all you need is:
- a new helmet
- a couple of shields
- gloves
- boots
- back protector
- chest protector
- dedicated track bike
- trailer
- tow vehicle
- couple of 5 gallon gas cans
- a set of tires every weekend
- more frequent oil changes
- lap timer
- suspension work
- canopy
- large cooler
- rear and front stands
- tire warmers
- generator
Just to name a fewWelcome to the obsession. It sounds like you got off easy with "just" a new set of leathers.
Need another hit off the good old track pipe?
Let's see.... now all you need is:
I'm going to save this list and remind myself it will take me quite some time to get there. Gotta go buy a lotto ticket now...![]()
Is that a Latigo one piece?
Like?
This is true, Jen, BUT... for $750 you can attend a day-long Cali Superbike School and bring nothing with you!
$750 includes bike rental and full gear (that's right, not just leathers, but boots, gloves AND helmet, should you need any of it). .. and no worrying about oil changes, tire wear, trailering, race bike, etc.
Just saying![]()
don't forget copious quantities of duct tape and a tool kit
you can save a bit of money by turning your tyres, and slicks tend to last longer.
Any chance you could "share" with some rich friend?
Come on, Jen, just one hit. You won't get addicted!![]()
as far as a dedicated track bike goes, why not a 250. there are classes for 250s and you can take them to shorter, tighter tracks and have just as much fun.
but a rashed up 600 with a rebuilt title is always good, since it wont be for road use anyway.
I'm trying to meet some!
Did you see/hear the exhaust I just put on my bike? (video link in post #64 http://www.600riders.com/forum/im-g...0487-socal-hoons-summers-end-ride-when-7.html)
I'm already addicted and I haven't even tried it! I did, however, hang out at AAA Speedway a couple of weeks ago with a friend and his Sugar Baby.
:BLAA:
But I think I will do best if I follow Erci's tip and go to a riding school first. I'm not interested in racing as much as being able to build skills and go fast in a safe environment with like-minded nut cases. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I will want to race once I know what track riding is all about. I kinda like being good at things...any other perfectionistic over-acheivers out there? Yeah, you're my peeps.
- a helmet(why would you have to get a new one?)
- gloves
- boots
- back protector:
- a 5 gallon gas can
NJMP (Thunderbolt). ... for now![]()
