Upgrade the front and rear brakes on the 2005 FZ6N, Y/N?

I need an opinion. Do I need to upgrade the front and rear brakes on the 2005 FZ6N? If I need, what and how much? Now I have standard brakes, as I got on the motorcycle.

I would suggest installing braided stainless steel brake lines. It’s a significant upgrade. Also, if you think the brakes could work better, it may be time to rebuild the calipers and install aggressive pads.

Rebuild the calipers or new one? Brembo?

A rebuild kit will return 100% of the capability. Im not aware of a bolt-on Brembo caliper. However the two piston caliper from an S2 FZ6 will bolt on and will a provide marginal performance improvement.

Upgraded OEM brakes as I noted above are adequate for typical aggressive street riding and even occasional track days. If you haven’t upgraded the forks, aggressive brakes will only amplify the inherent brake dive, and in my opinion would potentially create an unsafe condition.

+1 on SS braided lines.

Also, plus 1 on the brake calipers. The S2 calipers have FOUR pistons, not TWO (on each side).

Just those updates will make a noticeable change..
