Question FZ6 Wont start after accident

what will stop a FZ6 from running after an accident? only minimal damage the worst being that the clocks/speedo are in a million pieces but I'm guessing that wouldn't stop it? stand sensor seems fine but I cant get the fuel pump to prime or the engine to turn over, any advice greatly appreciated :cool:
 
It’s too early to think…so I asked ChatGPT how to reset the tip over sensor (TOS)…
  1. Turn the ignition key OFF.
  2. Ensure the bike is upright — not leaning or on its side. The TOS disables the fuel pump and ignition if the bike tips over past ~65°.
  3. Inspect for active error codes:
    • Put the bike in diagnostic mode:
      • Hold the “Select” and “Reset” buttons on the dash.
      • While holding, turn the key ON (don’t start).
      • Release buttons when the display shows “Diag”.
  4. Clear the tip-over code (if present):
    • Use the buttons to scroll to code 30 (this is the TOS code).
    • Code 30 means the sensor has tripped.
    • To clear it:
      • Turn the key OFF.
      • Wait about 30 seconds.
      • Turn the key back ON while the bike is upright and stable.
      • The code should clear automatically once the sensor detects the bike is upright and you restart it.
  5. Start the bike:
    • If the code is cleared, the engine should start normally.
    • If it doesn’t, double-check:
      • The sensor hasn’t come loose or been damaged.
      • The kill switch is set to RUN.
      • The side stand is up (and the bike is in neutral).

Also because it sounds like the instrument readout has been smashed and if there was any short circuit, a fuse may have blown.
 
There is a module (here we go again) it's called the, starter interrupt- cut off relay. It's actually 2 relays in the module. One relay that allows the starter circuit to operate and one relay that allows power to the fuel pump and fuel injectors.
I think that module is on under the left pod. It has a 16 pin plug. There are 2 wires we want to check. The red wire should show 12 vdc even with the key off. The red with a blue tracer color should show 12 vdc when the key is turned to on. If you don't see 12 vdc on the red wire go back and test your fuses again. If you don't see 12 vdc on the red with blue tracer with the key on your module may be toast.

Is this the thing? I can't see a plain red or a red with a blue trace

Yes that's the plug. See the red wire with a blue line? That's the fuel pump/fuel injection signal (12 vdc) you should see with the key on. The red wire with the goldish color band is on the other side of the plug is the constant 12 vdc you'll be seeing when measuring with a volt meter against ground. The second picture you uploaded with the locking tab toward us is the picture that's showing the red w/blue tracer.

OK, couldn't see the forest for the trees

Ignition off - red 12v

Ignition on - red/blue trace 0.02v
looks like the module is toast. Run a temporary jumper between the red wire and the red w/blue. You should get fuel pump prime. Then try to start the bike.
let us know.
You'll need the module plugged in when you make the jumper....
