    Fit riders unite.

Hey, so the geeks are uniting, just wondered if there are any athletes on here who want to unite?! Because I work well over full time at a desk job, I already struggle to find time to maintain my fitness, never mind finding time to ride my motorbike. In fact, I'm contemplating selling the...

    Race anyone?

lol... This thread is turning out to be funnier than I expected! The people on this forum are awesome. I have concluded, the sudden race to pass thing must be because I'm a girl. I've seen other bikers do this as well. (Harleys...) :D I don't engage! ...(well...not all of the time)... ;)

    Fear the Citizen-Avenger

Agreed. There are some places that bicycles really do NOT belong! Freeways where speeds are high and places where there is no room for the motorist to move over to are prime examples. I avoid those places (e.g. 17th Ave. in Calgary) when I'm on my bicycle.

    Fear the Citizen-Avenger

Sigh. I guess it really is pretty hard to understand for those who have not experienced the tremendous limitations of riding a bike on the sidewalk for many miles. Lone, please try riding your pedal bicycle around your block on the sidewalk. Then try riding it on the road. Then think about...

Gear shift - smooth method advice pls

Agree with above. This might be the reason that the Fazer is aka "the clunker" in some circles? Smooth shifting of this bike through the lower gears does require precision with the clutch and the rpms.

    Race anyone?

I'm not sure what it is, but it seems to happen on a regular basis. On a multi-lane freeway, I'll be going at a decent clip to pass guys (they're usually in a Dodge Ram; though this morning it was a guy in an Audi) but suddenly, they're trying to keep up or pass me. This gets really annoying...

    On-line companies: picks and pans

I got my frame sliders from Motovation - had excellent service and speedy delivery. I'm now in the process of special ordering some pants from RevZilla - and "Matt" has been great about answering questions quickly and helpfully. I hope that the order goes through just as well. What companies...

The REAL way to clean your wheels.

Agree with Maycyn - it's no big deal, as long as I don't have to be the one who cleans up after! :) I've washed my very muddy mountain bike in the tub when it was just too chilly to wash it outside.... Actually, there are worse things...I'd much rather see a wheel in the tub than a big black...

    Downshifting

Question: When you downshift rapidly like this from 40 mph, do you ever have trouble getting it to downshift (shifter won't move)?

Female riders how do you wear your hair in your helmet wife wants to know

I too am a big proponent of full face helmets. In a past job, I've seen the aftermath of the accidents that "nobody thought would happen". The more protection - full face, all leather, etc. - the better. Full face helmets take some getting used to, but they are well worth it. Re: the hair...

Pretty cool! The Paddock was a bit of a disappointment, but we had great seats in the grandstand. It's incredible how fast the riders went. I was pleased to see a Yamaha winning over the Ducati ;). Saw a few crashes too. I'd love to go to track school at Miller Park - quite a place! We...

Unfortunately, we didn't have any extra time at all...we grossly underestimated how much time it would take to get to SLC from Yellowstone on Saturday, and also didn't build in the time it took for me to get lost alone in SLC (found out there is no access to exit 306 going Southbound! - and I...

Learned how to bump start this morning

Funny, I just learned this yesterday, at a gas station about 100 miles from home. I forgot to turn the bike all the way off, with the high beams on (I always have them on for 2 lane highways), and sat down for a one hour discussion with the bf. He left on his bike, and I went to start...

    Grrr

I also got my bike for a great price, and I was also told I had to bring the bike back to Blackfoot for first service, or the warranty would be void. Check your warranty. I believe that you can take it to any Yamaha authorized dealer...and advise extreme caution when dealing with Blackfoot...

    Salt Lake City May 30/31

We got our info last night, and it looks like we'll have Saturday afternoon free. We'll be at Superbikes in "Ducati Island" all day on Sunday. I'd love to hook up with some of you to ride, if you're free Saturday afternoon! The Cottonwood sounds good - not too long (after about 750 miles on...
