Great tip! I will try that along with Motogiro's suggestion of the kill switch. I have already removed the clutch safety switch as it broke a few thousand miles ago. The connector has a small jumper wire inside it which eliminates the clutch safety switch.
Thanks for everyone's help! It's...
I'm going to try that. It's very annoying to get to the spark plug wires due to their location on this bike, but I seem to get better at putting the airbox on each time I take the bike apart! I will check the insulation for any cracks or scrapes which would cause arcing.
What gets me is it...
Recently, my 2005 FZ6 has developed a random misfire at random times. I thought it was due to the cheap Autolite spark plugs I installed on the bike about 2k miles ago, but have since replaced them with the correct NGK CR9EK plugs. The misfire is still occurring at random times whether the...
I keep the bike in gear until I see a car or two behind me. Also, if I'm the first one to go through the green light after it changes, I wait a few seconds for those idiots who blow through the light even after it's red, this saved my butt more than a few times!
Trying to ride my FZ6 as much as possible but since we're not in hurricane season here in FL, the weather has been rather unpredictable and rainy. However, I did ride my FZ to work today and she wasn't running quite right.
It seems there's a deadspot from idle to 1/8th throttle, feels like a...
Yes, wild huh? Everyday they get more golden-colored. I've emailed moto-777 to determine a solution.
My adjusters were originally red, I painted them silver to match my bike better.
Kudos to sxty8goats for this awesome idea! I will be purchasing this tape to install on my helmet. I do a fair amount of night riding, anything to increase visibility is a good mod in my book!
I've been running the moto777 short levers for about 2 months now. Has anyone else's turned bronze/gold? My levers started off black, but now they're bronze and becoming lighter by the day. I'm thinking it has something to do with UV exposure.
Also, when lifitng and securing the fuel tank, keep a pan or cup (not plastic) underneath the fuel tank vents if the tank is 3/4 full or more. You will have some fuel come through the fuel tank vents and you certainly don't want it on your garage floor or driveway!
Good tips CCHOUSEKY!
Geoff, from what I can see in the picture, I would paint the front fender and the side covers silver to match the rest of the bike. I'm personally prefer silver over black anyway. After owning a black car for a few years, I vowed to never live through that washing/waxing/paint scratch...
