I was shopping for my first helmet and saw this on a poster for Bell helmets years ago. IF YOU HAVE A $10 HEAD, WEAR A $10 HELMET. After seeing this I bought the most expensive helmet the shop I was in had.:D

Here in Houston we have "EZ Tag" they gave me an older style one for the bike and I just put it in my pocket, works great. Unless I forget and leave in in the other jacket.:D

I too find counter steering to be very effective in windy conditions.

I actually live in Channelview, a burb of Houston and its Harley Heaven around here.(Harleys and trailer parks.) I try to wave at everyone, I waved at a guy on a harley, who didn't wave back and had the guy in the truck behind him laugh at me. Yep Folks round here are real winners.:D

I have been thinking about swing arm caps myself. I hope to return to work in a few months and if no one has come up with a good source (Biker Bill posted that he knows someone to make them.) I plan to machine some myself and will make some extra.

I still have road rash from when I was 16, almost 32 years ago. I thank God it was not even close to what happened to that fellow. I have feared just that sort of crash ever since and you wont find me riding without my gear. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Mines still stock. Although I would love to have one, at $500.00 + a pop I don't think I could ever afford aftermarket. I’ve been thinking along the lines of build your own with glass packs. There was some interesting stuff in a post a few weeks back and hopefully there will be more.
