  • Good morning John,
OK, I was wrong about Keith Moon, but how about your new profile pic - Is that you? Cool if it is! We've had a rainy week so far and not much cycle riding. I'm a Land Surveyor and we're a little slow right now. I'm working one week on and one week off and I've got to tell you, at my age, I'm liking the week off rather than the week on. Oh well, we'll have to see how it all turns out. Hope you are having a good week.

    Lefty Old Buddy,
Wow, how about that. There's a bunch of us old dudes on FZ6's. Like the one dude posted, I too feel good taking off my helmet and revealing my age. It feels cool. It's great to have a sporty and sexy bike again. My ride today was great. Your "I resemble that" comment reminds me of an old buddy of mine. He used to say that all the time. W.C. Fields, right?
    Take care,

    Hey Man, What's up,
Good to hear from you John. It sounds like you have a great weekend lined up with the family. Cool! I did go for a ride on the FZ6 today. I am learning this bike's style the more that I ride it. Today I discovered that I was used to lugging my big old torquey Suzuki Cavalcade through a town at 35 mph and 3000 rpm, but that little Fazer of ours loves to be wound up. And now when I cruise through a town in 2nd gear and about 4500 rpm along with the Scorpion pipes, she buzzs like a pissed off bad ass mosquito. I love that sound. I did something today that I only had to do once and that was to take her up over a 100 mph. I went 120 on one of my bikes in the old days and remember how if felt so light in the front end and a little scary, but that Yamaha today went to 110 in nothing flat and felt rock solid and felt like she would do 180 with no problem. What a very cool bike we own. So John, we'll talk to you later and again - have a great weekend.

    Good morning John,
It's raining here in PA today. Keith Moon - All right! I love The Who. I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly a long time ago. They all came out on stage doing a forward sommersault. Pete Townshend had his guitars numbered and finally ended up smashing #9, I believe it was. How about our long rides? I know I physically couldn't do one of them anymore and am glad that I did those rides when I was younger. The carving show is bird carving and sculpture, but I haven't competed since 2000. It's a World event and after entering my first show in 1991 and moving up through the Novice to World level of competition, I took a third in the World in 2000. If you want to see some of my sculpture, you can find them under my facebook photos. Search for "Blair Fisher". So, have a good week and we'll talk to you later.

    Hey there John,
Your new profile pic is great. Is that you? How was your weekend? Janice and I were in Ocean City MD for the Ward World Carving Show which I used to compete in. When I got home today, I saw an interesting post on the site entitled "What was your longest ride?" I had to enter a post. Do you have any rides like that?
    Talk to you later,
    Blair

P.S. Sorry for the double letter

    All right Lefty,
Very cool bikes and descriptions. Seems like you've been through a lot of cycles and a lot of adventures just like me. My 800lb Suzuki Cavalcade was like your Yamaha V-Star. So big and bulky that I rarely got it out anymore and it just wasn't fun to ride unless you were in the saddle on an Interstate all day which I rarely did anymore. Now with my FZ6 riding is fun again and I'm back to my roots. Us old geezers have had plenty of cycle stories and your descriptions were excellent. Did you check out my Rider Resume pics on my site. Most of my photos aren't of the original bike, but photos I found on the web. So, it's been good to meet you my Left Coast Buddy and keep in touch.

    Hey Kingfisher,
You're right, I've just been kind of lazy.. I just got back from a great ride through the Santa Cruz mountains and after I take my wife out to lunch I'll come home, clean the Fizzer and take some pics. Anything specific you had in mind for pics?
    Cheers,
    John
