KENNY!!!! I just bought my same dream bike too! Mine is white, as is my Harley and Toyota Tundra. #allwhiteeverything
As you recall, height isn't an issue for me, in fact, I wouldn't mind a taller seat. My XR1200 is lifted and the seat height is pretty high, in the 35" range.
Hahaha Cliff you old goon! You even almost remembered my name (Dirk). What are you riding these days? Still got the Suzuki SV1k or did you ball it up too? LOL
Hey peeps. It's been a WHILE and I thought I'd give a personal update. Those of you who know me, know I sold my FZ6 back in 2012 when I took a job with Sprint, got divorced, and had no garage. Well, in 2013, I took a job with a Harley-Davidson dealership and shortly after, bought a 2009 XR1200...
Idaho? Sounds way more boring than Vegas. yeah I haven't had a chance to go on anymore trips especially now that I'm the business manager at a Harley dealer. I always have to work during the good riding season.
holy crap I'm gone for over a year and I come back and it's the same people even though few of us have FZ6's anymore. LOL WHAT'S UP PEEPS
Wish I wasn't 2000 miles from this ride.
I had two sets of Z6's on my FZ6 and the XR1200 is running OEM Dunlop Sportmax's. So when I burn those up in 2,000 miles or less I'll likely look at the Z8. The XR is a heavy bike so the Sportmax's get kinda blue with heat when I'm out riding hard.
I always say "smooth is fast" so I suppose I would translate your statement as saying you have to be intentional in your motorcycle control. Take a wider setup for a corner entry and you'll carry higher speed due to not having such a course correction mid corner. As was stated above by others...
CRAP! I was planning on going next year! I went to Indianapolis for 5 years now and went to Austin this year, Laguna Seca was next year! Oh well. Guess I'll have to go party in Austin again. :BLAA:
Definitely. I have family in Juneau Alaska so I have plans to ferry from Canada to Juneau then from Juneau North to eventually hit the Dempster Hwy and ride to Inuvik NWT.
One thing I do miss about my FZ6 is the fuel mileage. I got 45mpg pretty regularly on it and I get 28mpg pretty regularly on the XR1200. It's a weird day when your car is more efficient than your motorcycle.
