More info on the bike...
Always garaged. New tires put on about 2000 miles ago. Pirelli Corsa III on the front, Conti Sport Attack on the rear. I wanted a Pirelli Strada on the rear, but it wasn't in stock at the time...
2007 blue FZ6 with 5685 miles--asking $4500. Never down, never raced. Bike is stock except for sliders and black windscreen and black paint on the stock cans. I'm about to update the inspection sticker and registration. I'm in the Austin, TX area. Clear blue TX title in hand.
Makanouchi should be getting this later today. If not, Wildcard is next.
I ended keeping the FZ6 after I got the Blackbird. I sold the Blackbird a few months ago and now the FZ6 will (really) go.
SOLD-Power Commander III
Bike is going, so I'm selling my <6 mo. old PCIII. My bike is stock, so just used it to improve throttle response and lean condition from the factory. Comes with the USB cable to connect to your laptop. The software and installation instructions can be found here...
bmccrary,
You must be a future engineer, because that was the best "data filled" post I've ever read on any forum! I'd be interested in your findings after you change the rear spring.
Thanks for sharing, and for taking the time to write all that!
Pete,
Congrats  !!!
I test rode one of these a few months a go. The ergos are pretty good for a sport bike. Compared to my ZX-14 (very comfy), it's a close 2nd. And wait until you hit 5K rpms... it REALLY starts to pull.

PJ,
Good topic .
While I agree that a track day or 1-on-1 instruction is best, I do think that books are better than "winging it". Here's a video shot at a track a few hours from where I live. I've been out there and know some of the guys with Ride Smart. At about 1:20 in this...
SOLD!!! Corbin seat for FZ6, like new. Price is $250 plus shipping.
Bike is going, so get this improvement to the stocker while you can. Just in time for Spring!
Has opening for Corbin backrest made for this seat.
+1 on the seat and drilling out the stock cans.
IMHO, it's no contest--get the seat. As much as I like aftermarket exhausts, about all you can get for the FZ6 is slip-ons, and they do basically nothing but make it sound better, maybe look better at the tail.
I'd rather put money into...
The Three Sisters are a bunch of fun. 337 has a section under construction just west of Leakey right now.
A few other roads in the area that are good are 16 between Kerrville and Medina, as well as 1050 between Garner Park and Utopia and 470 from Utopia to Tarpley.
