Well I am out sadly. Divorce is going slowly, issues with school stuff, and I am so broke right now. I haven't had any time recently. I haven't even sat on the bike since I got back from my last trip early, and that was a month ago... sigh.
Good luck guys, and have fun. I am looking forward...
Long long story. The highlights include a 1 night stop at home mid way through ended with me not leaving and beginning talks of divorce. And now I need to sell the bike to lower my debt thanks to the divorce.
Overall the trip went well and was in the ballpark of 3,000 miles. I have alot of...
Will do man, if I hear through that area I'll let you know.
Yesterday the weather finally cleared up and I got some more enjoyable riding in. I met a friend at Sea Dog brewery in Topsham, ME. It was a favorite of mine from when I used to live in Maine and highly recommend them to anyone...
Stripper fishing sounds awesome. I'd like to learn more about it, like what type of lures you use and is 50lbs test line strong enough? :-p
And ya the rain can be tough, I know what you mean, but I'm pretty good at pushing through the mental hardships. It was only the second day of it when it...
Ok I finally road through a variety of rain with the new gear. I already outlined hoe it performed in great detail in my thread about my trip.

It worked perfectly in light...
Ok first update of the trip. I am now in Maine. I arrived yesterday. I made it up to NH on the first day. Odometer pictures.
Day one :
(South of Baltimore, Maryland to near Manchester, New Hampshire)
Just barely shy of 600 miles on Thursday. All together I was on the road 13 hours 30...
The bags dont droop per say, but I was worried they would hit the rear tire they swing so far in. Its not their fault. I used to use them with my 82 XJ650, and they were great, but with the FZ6 they just are not supported at all. I have seen other members use soft saddle bags without supports...
I have their saddle bags from the same set, which I like alot. Sadly most saddle bags don't fit the FZ6 very well without a support bracket. Hence why I ended up buying the Shad hard luggage.
Agreed, I thought that was the law in all 50 states. The idea being that the children may need to cross the street, so technically you are supposed to stop on both sides of the street regardless of how many lanes are present.
Personally I just think the law it good, but I also think school...
Sounds alot like the gear I recently bought. An interesting perspective that I will consider when I do finally ride in the rain with the new gear. The jacket I expected to get wet, but its mesh so it should dry quickly when the rain finally stops. I had not considered the mess it would make...
True, this was viewed in the context of my wife's car. She drives a 2012 Honda Fit (Jazz for you Europeans, and its a hatchback for those non car people). So its pretty rare that I need more storage space and can't find a way to use her car for at least a little while.
You mentioned that...
Both are alot of fun, I daily drive a second gen Miata, and my best friend (the one doing my huge trip with me) daily drives an FR-S (Scion badged BRZ). I have driven both alot, and enjoy both immensely. You really could not go wrong with either, for basically the same reasons, but the...
My Frogg Togg pants were like this, and they never leaked even in the crotch. Though as I mentioned before they were hideous. In fact most of the non riding over gear rain suits I have seen typically are. So this time around (as in post accident, yay all new gear!) I tried to find dedicated...
I liked the idea of saying a summary of recommendation so here goes.
Joe Rocket Atomic 4.0 Jacket - Highly recommended as a second jacket, it is perfect for rain or 3 season cold riding, but you need something with better breath-ability for the summer. The vents it has do work well, so its...
