I believe the sound of a pipe is purely for enjoyment, not safety. My experience is that you normally only here a loud bike when it is next to, or ahead of you, and not behind. So, it won't help the average comatose motorist avoid trying to kill you.
The best way to remove adhesive residue is Eucalyptus Oil, available from pharmacies (that's Drug Stores for you in the US&A). Don't use solvents, as the goo melts and spreads.

I assume by now you have the instructions, but may be hesitant IRO the sound, as was I. I started with 14mm (1/2") followed by a 20mm (7/8"), which required some force/sharpening of the masonry bits, but dont be concerned.

Hey Owl - Can't comment on the Jazz can, but I see you've drilled your standard silencer.
Does it sound as tinny as reported? Is it worth the effort and, if so, how did you do it?
