+1 on the riding position. That's why I went with the FZ6 instead of the FZ1....I was a little too immature to handle the power of the FZ1 at the time, also. That was a few bikes ago though....sigh...
It's nice, but not sold on it yet. Coming from the 6, the power is intoxicating, just...
My buddy also has the same setup and I have taken him up on the same deal you are offering numerous times!! It sure helps when you have to change tires every second or third oil change.
Great Pics!! I rode down to Laguna Seca last weekend to take in World Superbikes. I miss your weather already, lol. Took in Hwy 128 and the road from Leggett to the coast...the name of the road eludes me right now but both roads are absolutely fantastic!!! Anyway, sorry for hijacking your...
I wave to all riders if it is safe to do so. I used to feel annoyed when other riders did not wave back but have since toughened up a bit...lol. It's more of an acknowledgement of fellow riders for me.
LOL...but I only needed to replace my OEM filter once in 57000 kms. I still think K&N is hype. I love these threads, though....I'm thinking of resurrecting an old oil thread.
Always...I find there are no surprises coming into a corner at speed when I know what gear I'm in.....but then I always...and I mean always...shift using my clutch.
I asked the same question when I changed my air cleaner the first and only time on my FZ6. (and I put 57000 kms on it before I sold it). The experienced mechanic at the repair shop I used thought the K&N didn't filter out the tiny particles as well as the stock air cleaner. He told me that he...
Mine had 57000 kms on it when I sold it. Which is about 34000 miles. It ran, looked and felt like the day I bought it. What a great, bulletproof bike!! Other than maintenance and a few mods, it was very inexpensive to own and a hoot to ride!
Sometimes would probably be a better response for me personally. I rode with one hand a lot more when I had the FZ6 but now with my old school 06 Concours, I tend to hit the throttle lock when I ride with one hand. I can actually choose which hand I want to give a break to...an option I didn't...
Givi may still have a Tall Windscreen for the 04-06 FZ6 available. Otherwise, you may have to try ebay for a used one...either the OEM Tall windscreen or the Givi Tall windscreen. I've had them both(sold them both already, sorry!) They are both similar in wind protection.
Hope you find one soon!
I now have a set of custom made earplugs for myself. After several years of riding without, I now have a constant ringing in my ears all the time! Tinnitus I believe is what it is called. Probably too late for me but I would highly recommend earplugs at all times to save yourself the annoyance...
Whoa!!! Awesome new ride!!!I guess I'll have to watch for your new feejer running around Abbotsford instead of the ole FZ6. I hope it takes you to all the places your FZ6 did and more!! Ride safe.
PS- Are you going to farkle out the FJR like you did the FZ6? :-)
I have an 89 Honda Pacific Coast, also. Debating whether or not to sell it or turn it into a pristine collectible. Its kind of a goofy bike but I like it for some odd reason!!
Well, I did it. I advertised my FZ6 on Craigslist and sold it! Dang, it was sad to see it go! I have to admit a little sellers remorse creeping in. Anyway, I sure hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did. I think I'll hang around here though... just to pitch in with the knowledge I have...
Check out Bonemans FZ6 sight. He installed an aftermarket airhorn and has some good pics of it on his sight. Not sure if it will work for your specific horn but its worth a look. Good luck on your project.
