Thinking of putting my 2007 up for sale. I purchased the bike new. Only about 7000 Miles on it. Its like new. I did lowside it but it was all cosmetic, that is what made me convert it. Have a lot of expensive parts on it. Did not cheap out. I think this list pretty well covers it. Have not rode it much and sits in a heated garage under cover. Never gets ridden in the rain. Also comes with an FZ6 Cover.

What do you guys think I should be asking for this bike.

You'd probably be better pulling off and parting out what you can, if you've still got some stock pieces. In my experience aftermarket accessories don't add value.

In other news, that's one sexy bike!

You'll get 2 kinds of buyers.

Those who'd wish you haven't crashed the bike and it was clean and stock
(like me), and those who'd be happy that the bike is all farkled out already
so they don't have to do it.

Only problem is, both of those buyers will think the bike is worth the same
amount of money, and I think it's worth as much as a stock uncrashed
bike without any mods.

Resale value is always better on completely stock, untouched bikes.
Sometimes even the missing warning labels will turn people off buying it.

When I see "performance parts" I think - "aggressive rider" and look for a
stock bike with sport-touring tires.

First: I have to say that this has been one of my all time favorite bikes on the forum!

I would typically say put the bike back to stock and sell off the bits for the best potential profit in the shortest time span. This method isn't for everyone though as it involves a ton of work creating & responding to classified listings, boxing & shipping large components, Finding replacement parts, etc, etc, etc...

On the other hand; I would not be surprised if you could fetch somewhere in the range of $4,500 to $5,500 (In my region anyway). The catch? You must be patient. It takes a while to find the exact right buyer that is looking for this style of bike and sees values in the add-ons that you have installed.

I wouldn't be surprised if you would see a bit more interest this year with the release of the FZ-09. I think this bike has brought "Naked" to the forefront again. Cleverly place "FZ-09 Style" in your listing and I am sure you will get a few extra hits.

For sake of comparison; My 07' sold locally a few years ago for $5,500 with a lot of the same upgrades (Link: http://www.600riders.com/forum/sell-your-bike-car-truck/40745-feeler-f-s-2007-fz6-one-kind.html). It took a good 8-months but it was worth it at the end of the day.

Good luck with your sale!!!

Agree with what others are saying. If you get lucky and find the right buyer (someone who really likes and appreciates the looks and value of the mods on this bike) then it might sell for $5,000. Otherwise most buyers would rather spend the same money on a unmolested 2007 R6 with the same miles.

you mentioned it was laid down... does it have clean title or salvage title... this will make a difference in the final value....

Let's remember that this is in Canada.. I'm seeing a whole ton of stock fz6's with the same year and mileage going for 5-5500. I would imagine yours would be in the 5500-6000 range

+1 on the previous advice for returning to stock. I doubt you'll get much of a mark up, even though you have premium parts. Some people might buy your bike with the explicit intent of reselling most of the parts.

I'd give you about $3500 (that's the Indiana price) with or without the parts if I were buying. In my experience, and the experience of everyone that I know who rides, mods do virtually nothing to value (except increase your perceived value).

It's a beautiful bike with all the mods that you could want but 98% of buyers won't know that. They see - crashed 599cc that isn't stock.

When I bought my bike from the dealer, it was actually cheaper than an identical model next to it because it HAD the FZ1 bar, underbody lights, K&N air filter, dual headlight mod, turn signals, FE, integrated tail light, etc.

The good news is that the used parts market on this forum is pretty active. You can probably get 50%-75% of the used parts costs back if you part them out.

FZ6's sell locally at dealers for $4500 on the high end. $2000 - $3800 p2p, regardless of mods.

That's exactly what I believe I wrote above, and the way I would think if I
saw that bike. Crashed. All used bikes I bought HAD TO BE bone stock, and
have all stickers in place AND the repair logs.

Can't be 100% safe even doing that, but it's the best way IMHO.

I'd also bring the bike back to stock and sell off the added parts.
He'd probably get a total that can buy a FZ1.

Kamloops....I've been in awe over your bike since I joined in 2011. I even asked about you and they said you've been inactive. Sorry to hear about the bike it was incredible!

Can you still get that front headlight kit?
