Sold! Thanks!!

2009 Yamaha FZ1, clean/clear title in-hand . Has very minor damage from a minor drop, otherwise, in excellent condition. Well maintained with synthetic oil changed every 3k miles, 19,915 miles. Shinko touring tires with 75% tread left. This bike is nearly stock and has heated grips and a 12V power outlet (keyed) for GPS/accessories use. Damage is a small scuff on the corner of the fairing, a dimple in the tank (no paint cracked, chipped or missing), and a small scuff on the rear grab handle. The FZ1 is based off the older 998cc R1 motor, an in-line 4 cylinder / 20 valve liquid cooled, fuel injected engine. This bike makes a great commuter bike, touring bike or canyon carver. This is a standard seating bike with handlebars, not a crotch-rocket where you lay on the tank. Asking $5,595.00 OBRO. Cash or certified bank check only, no low-ball offers entertained, no trades accepted, no PayPal. I have a trailer and can deliver within 50 miles. This sale will be AS IS/WHERE IS. Test drive with cash asking price in my hand and waiver signed stating you crash, you bought! The bike is inspected and ready to ride!!! 2009 Yamaha FZ1 Standard Equipment, 2009 Yamaha FZ1 Price & Specs | NADAguides

BUMP! Price drop of $400. Now $5,595.00 or best reasonable offer! Heated grips extend the riding season here. Make an offer!

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ1 S

Why no test ride? Personally, I would not purchase a used motorcycle unless I got to test ride one so if I were in the market for a FZ1, I guess I would have to move onto another seller.

Agree - as-is no warrenty + no test rides screams to me that you're trying to hide something bad about the bike.

AFAIK the "standard" is test rides as long as you have a cash/check in hand in case they wreck it - probably get more interest in the sale with that policy?

Good luck!

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ1 S

If someone wants to put the asking price in my hand and sign something stating that they crash it, they bought it, then yes. Not even dealers in NH allow test rides on bikes so I guess you'd have to shop elsewhere for a new bike as well? ;) There's nothing to hide, I said it was put down and show the damage. Pics tell the story.

And you all know the classified rules here so please, don't be breaking them?

Even the dealerships don't allow test rides? I find that hard to believe. I know that if you don't have a valid M endorsement that would prevent anyone from riding.

Good luck with the sale, I know a lot of FZ6 riders has progressed to the FZ1, such as yourself.

The only time you can test ride one here is if it is used, or, the dealer has a "Demo Day" where they will let you ride new bikes with one of their staff leading a group. Liability insurance for the dealers here prevent them from letting customers test a new bike. Yes, it does suck!

As for me personally, if I know the rider, I'd likely let them test the bike but not a stranger. I have no way of knowing if they have any ability to control the throttle hand on a bike, especially a liter bike that goes from zero to ticket in first gear. ;) In NH, I'M liable for their welfare on my bike. Insurance here follows the vehicle, not the rider. I'd not take that chance on a stranger. *EDIT* Fixed...

Just sold my FZ6. I held cash in hand while they were on the ride with a verbal agreement that if they drop it, crash it, etc. I keep the cash which is the amount of the asking price and sign the title over to them and let them figure out what the need to do with the bike from there. That's how I bought my FZ6, bought my Vmax, and sold my FZ6. Works well and highly suggest it.

Additionally, insurance follows the vehicle and not the rider in IL as well. You wither need to see it as a risk you have to take or see it as most bikes sell under the KBB and NADA values nowadays and unless you have crap insurance, almost be a better deal if they wrecked it.

Finally, just want to note that this is listed in the bike parts section, not the bikes for sale section, may want to PM an admin to get it moved so more people looking for whole bikes see it.

Re: 2009 Yamaha FZ1 S

Thanks mdfb42. I did change my ride policy and since I'm a super mod, I moved the thread myself. ;) Thanks for pointing that out!
