Anyone up for a tour of Tassie!

Im starting to work out clothing/gear for the trip & im wondering how much everybody else is taking ??? We dont want to take to much but dont want to run short either so has anybody sorted a "checklist" of sorts ???

Tossing up between clear helmet visor & sunnies or tinted visor , not really expecting to be doing all that much night touring so im thinking tinted visor would be suffice , how bout the rest of ya's ?? :D

Just starting to get a list together now. We'll probably use both visors - not gonna take too much room up.

2 Tee shirts (probably buy a couple more at the Supers)
2 pair shorts
A few pairs of boxers
A pair of shoes
Thongs (the feet kind :D)
Pair of jeans
Socks
Stubbie holder
Cap

As far as riding gear goes, 2 pair of Draggins
Wet weather pants
Don't know which jacket yet, probably my A-stars winter jacket. Has a removeable liner & vents so is'nt to bad when it's warm.
Will take both clear and tinted visor (don't like wearing sunnies when riding)
2 pairs gloves (summer & winter/wet)
Boots, looking for a new pair at hte moment. Maybe A-stars gore-tex,my current pair the soles are coming off again. Have had them for about 12-13 years and are still totaly waterproof.

I should be able to fit all my gear in my Givi, which leaves the panniers, tank bag and Karens top box for all her stuff

Hey man. I often use both tint and clear and i have found the best combo is the clear visor with shades for 3 reasons.

1. You have sunnies with you when you arent on the bike. (very handy when touring)

2. The shades actually protect your eyes from frosty breeze when you have the visor cracked a little

3. Ever had to drive at night in the rain? If you do and you happen to be out of the city lit area you will know how crap that can be.

Two words for you Mr. Humpy. Oxford Bum Bag Dude (so I can't count:BLAA:).

Slide in the other visor, and any handy stuff you want for the road (chain lube tec.), so when you pull over and need to grab something, Hey Presto, and Bob's your Auntie:thumbup:. Beats the crud out of digging through the luggage when you stop for juice.

Rightio....

From the most essential down!

1.Decent, but small tool kit, that has just about everything needed to deal with all manner of "side of the road emergencie's"...

2. First aid/hangover kit with lots of Nurofen, Berocca, Goanna Oil (Aches & pains), Mylanta! (you will all be asking for it!:D), band-aids(always seem to need them!), etc, etc, etc...

3. Riding gear - Leather pants, Dririder Summit Pro all weather "toasters"!, Clover jacket...can ride through blizzards in this thing and not be cold!, Leather jacket...zips to pants,Sidi Vertigo boots...waterproofed with Rainex (it works!), Helmet, Winter gloves, sport gloves, thermals...the whole shebang, it is a truely glorious site! :D, big chunky neckaclava, with chest "apron"!!! (nice!...get on!). Both visors...high visibility yellow night riding glasses as well, cuts car & truck light glare heaps...

List is very similar for Jess. Most of it we will be wearing on the bike a lot of the time, it's just the spare pair of riding pants that has me worried...they are bulky, even in small womans size like Jess's leather's!

4. Clothes! 4 T-shirts, 2 jeans, 1 shorts, 1 decent jumper, or hoodie, 2 x 7 pack of bonds still in their bag...saves space!, THICK socks, Converse's, thongs, Mocassins, Sunnies...will get the WSBK hat at PI! Toiletries....MOTO GP cologne!!!! :D

5. Crap! - Camera, Phone/ipod, GPS, Netbook, Scala two way radio???

6. All of Jess's stuff as well! Which will of course include a bloody hair straightener.

6a. Bad attitude! :rolleyes::D

As for packing it all....one pannier each for clothes, and personals. Top Box for extra riding gear. Under the seat for the tool box. Tank Bag for "on the go stuff".

Hey, the hair straightener is essential.....

I won't bother putting my list together - Mike might try to cut it in half. I can say it will include first aid kit, small tool kit, chain lube etc, lots of goodies (sorry I'm female - skin care, make-up, perfume etc HAS to come with me.....), camera, phone and anything else I can manage to squeeze in. Valentino Rossi t shirts, sweat shirts, hats :D Twilight DVDs so we can watch them when we come back from the pub......

A guy I work with has done a few tours - told me to pack each days clothes etc in zip lock bags - packs easily with air out of the bag - and you only have to undo a bag each day - liking the sound of that :D

First Twilight DVD that comes out, will be used as a Frisbee, as i launch it into the wild's of Tasmania!

:D

I am serious!

Maybe I'd better now take the DVD's then........

But the Rossi gear, that stays :D

Plus, I'll buy new stuff at the Island ..... :sinister:
