Are These 2 Hoses Detached?

Lifted the tank recently to install battery harness for heated gear. Just cleaner her up and noticed these two hoses with plugs on one end. Are they supposed to be hanging loose like this with terminators hanging out, or are there two more hoses missing a plug?

I believe they are used for syncing the throttle bodies.

Yep there is a total of 4 of them, 2 each side, for the throttle body synch.

Since you lifted the tank, make sure you reach down under where your swing arm connects to the frame by the 90degree bend in your exhaust, and pull down the drain tubes there as to make sure they aren't kinked under the tank.

This will help prevent your drains under the gas cap cover area from backing up, creating rust and corrosion.

Just kidding, as everyone else said they're vacuum tubes for syncing the throttlebodies.

Hey,

Those are two of the four hoses used to sync your throttle bodies. I'm pretty certain that's what they are but getting a second and subsequent opinion to be absolutly sure would not hurt.

One is a drain with the inlet of the drain on the left side of valley next to the gas hole in your gas tank, down in the indent where the gas cap assembly bolts into, so that if you dump water on your gas cap assy (rain, washing), it can drain freely down through the tube instead of sitting on top of your tank. The other is hooked in with the vent system to allow your tank to breath or overflow a little if needed. It works in conjunction with the red/pink colored rubber seal/grommit thing that you see when you lift up your gas cap (your tank actually sucks air in through the hinge of your fuel cap assy.

When mine was worked on, the hoses kinked when they put the tank down and I didn't know, and it caused some corrosion I had to get fixed.

If you search there will be a thread somewhere called something to the tune of corrosion under gas cap.

I also had the clogged drain problem. I always made sure my hoses were pulled clear, but mine was clogged from the inside. Here is my saga.
