I was shocked what I saw on the news today......

An enduro motard was driving on a gravelpath in nature when suddenly he was ripped of his bike by a steel cable that was attached between two trees across his path.:(
The steel wire was hanging 1,5m from the ground (at neck-hight)
He has a lifethreatening wound to his neck and face, the cable ripped the helmet clean off his face.

he was only driving 40km/h what prevented him from being decapitated.

It is the 3th time in 2 months that such a gruesome act is happening in that area.

The investigation is ongoing. I don't understand why somebody would so such a thing. Maybe the guy/woman/children who did this were tired of the noise, I don't know. If so, they should call the police, and not try to kill everybody who passes through that road.
What if some children on mountainbikes were passing by in stead of a geared up motard... can't think of it.

I really hope they find this guy and charge him for tripple attempted murder.

I've heard this before in the past. Not for a few many years though. It is illegal in most states to hang a wire across a road without flags to show the wire. People still do it thought. The guy that did it will be local to that area or is a hiker/hunter that thinks the woods belong to 'people like him' and not those 'dam noisy bikes'.

Guy should be strung up.

Unbelievable... People can be so insane, I see no difference in this and taking a knife to someone. Actually, this is worse. It's premeditated.

This has also been happening in the Perth Hills. People say that bikes are noisy and dangerous - they string cable up and wait for riders. Unfortunately, many of these riders are kids/teenagers.

As far as I am concerned, it is attempted murder.

Man. Crazy. I was into r/c aircraft for a while and one of the guys that I flew with at the club was in a wheelchair due to this same ****.

Years back, the hills to the East of Oakland between Berkeley and San Jose had a really nice motorcycling road..... Skyline Blvd ran for more than 20 miles N-S. Most of it passing through housing developments perched on the hillsides.

Seems the people who moved there, didn't like all the loud exhausts, and such.

Someone decided that a few motorcycle crashes were called for, and laid down fresh clean engine oil on some of the more serious turns. That sh*t is invisible.

Worked on me.... I didn't crash, but I took the hint and found other places to ride....

Exact same thing was happening in my town a couple years ago. Turns out it was an old guy who tired of hearing the exhaust and thought the bikers were doing damage to the forest (even though the cables were on major trails). I don't remember the charges, but he ended up getting jail time.

This is all very shocking. Holy ****. People are so callous. amazing. Do they not know what they are doing? Of course they do. Cable in the woods is one thing....some of those hunter/outdoor types are complete looney toons living in isolation.

but motor oil on the road???? for some noise protection?? Maybe they justify it with "well these speed demons will kill someone one day anyway might as well be them"? If so who is going to kill anyone else on empty roads with tons of visibility.

Astonishing.

I think it will be the exact same thing here.
Probabely some anti-social nature loving hippy pants wearing binocular using old guy who thinks motorcycles hurt nature.

I will keep you informed if they catch the man responsible for this barbaric act.

This is sick, I'm sorry to hear of something happening like that.

I got a snowmobile a few years back and it sat in my back yard doing nothing because I was worried about going for a ride in the woods and finding something similar. Or an old barb wire fence that was in the way could do the same thing. I sold the snowmobile having never ridden it.

They should have strapped him to an ATV, stuck the accelerator to about 50mph and ran him into a cable. See how he likes it, if he survives. An eye for an eye, and punishment should fit the crime. I don't see how trying to kill someone is punishable by a little jail time. Even if the intent wasn't to kill someone, it is a real possibility. If they're too dumb to consider that potentially horrible outcome, then we as a society are better off without them anyways.

better yet what if a person ending up dieing is one of their relatives........:spank:

As far as the noise no different than these morons that move next to dirt race tracks... There are numerous ones in upstate NY that have closed because they come up from the city and find some crazy law saying that they can't have the track there anymore..... It is one thing if there is alot of noise at 2 AM 5 days a week.

As far as hikers there are numerous state lands that motorized vehicles are not aloud in... Just find a different place to hike......

The bigger problem in Upstate NY is the horse people they have gotten many state lands closed to motorized vehicles. Funny thing is the people with the horses don't pay registration costs, insurance costs, etc so the NYC way they have the most rights...................

update:

The man is conscious again, after the doctors put him in an artificial coma.
he won't die, but can barely speak eather.

There still searching for the guy responsible.
rechearch proved that it is legal to drive in that road with a motorcycle.
So it HAS to be some old natureloving fart who has a zero tolerance for other people and there hobbys

The investigating team found also large nails punched into the roots of the trees, and then cut off the head of the nail so you get a flat tire...

someone needs to send a message to these clowns. burn down one of their forests every time someone gets injured. eventually they will see its a losing proposition.
