In California the speed you see that is posted in turns is the suggested/advisory speed and is not the speed limit. The speed limit is the speed that is posted for that roadway or any default speed the the state sets for example, business or residential, which is 25 MPH unless otherwise noted.
This means that if the posted speed on a roadway is 55 MPH and there is a turn with a suggested speed of 35 MPH and you do 45 through the turn you are not braking the speed limit. A LEO can still ticket you for other reasons of unsafe riding/driving for the conditions.
The signs (Yellow) you generally see before a turn in California are advisory speeds. The white speed limit signs are the actual speed limit.
It's always easy and good to look up your state's laws and also other states that your going to travel in.
Again, if you ride a certain way you can draw more attension than you want.
