Hello fellas,

I'm going to buy a yamaha fz6 bike, and this kinda my dream come true. The guy sell this to me claim that it is an fz6 2009. I never own any yamaha fz bikes, so this is hard for me to tell. Can you guys please help

It is FZ6 S2 with ABS. S2 is newer version of fz6. S2 have black engine and forks, new speedometer with analog rpm, better front brakes... Bikes with ABS must have ABS sensor so you can see a wire that connects the sensor.

It appears that it is a 2008 or later FZ 6. Some countries may vary how they classify the year. The bike pictured appears to have a rear ABS brake disk which I believe came out in 2008. The components are consistent with that of the S2 models that were 2007-2009.

thanks miso11 and Motogiro, that very helpful!.

One more dummy question, I usually bike in urban city, with the speed about 50-60km/h, does it easy to tame? I used to bike a ducati 795, and it very hard to tame at slow speed.
Thanks!

Yes the FZ6 will be tame provided you pick the right gear for your riding, however if your in a lot of stop n go traffic the charging system will give less performance and you'll want to keep rpm above 2000. The 795 is a twin with lots of torque so when you're on and off throttle, in lower gear in traffic, it will be less tame than the FZ6. Don't let the FZ6 fool you at lower rpm! It will show you it's teeth at higher rpm. One of the best, if not the best all round bikes ever made.

Oh Yeah! :welcome: to this great forum!

Bike looks very nice, clean look!
I ride(commute) 10 km each way to work with about 50% at 40kmh limit and often have to filter at walking pace.
I get a weekend run about once a month and I am on my second battery
Got 5 years from the first one. Put it on a tender only ifI'm not riding for a week due to holidays etc
But the only time its died was when the 1st battery was kaput

Welcome from downunder

I bought my S2 in 2007 with ABS, in Holland all S2 Fazers had ABS (not all the naked fz6's did).

Good eye ^^^^ we need a better picture of the goods!

Wild guess is it is custom. Cans look like those from the ATV world but no clue honestly.

so I set an appointment with the guy sell this bike, get to the location, call him and all I hear is "Your phone number is not reachable"... lol.
Another one offer me an Yamaha XJ6, actually this is the first time I hear about this, I thought fz6 is the only 600cc nake from yahama, perhaps I live under some rocks so many years.
I know this is the fz6 forums, but honestly the information about this xj series is not much to me, on my country it seems only 1 or 2 bikes, so if you guys know about this bike, can you please share some review about it? I'm really appreciate for all the help :)
