decapitated on greyhound bus in manitoba

ok before you read this be warned it is a pretty gruesome description, but it actually happened yesterday.

so a greyhound bus is travelling through thru the night to reach its destination. most the people are asleep. a man is sleeping in one of the last few rows of the bus. he is awakened by screams he describes as "something between a howling dog and a crying baby, something that will definitely be with me for some time to come." what has happened is the person who was sleeping beside him....has been stabbed repeatedly in the neck by the passenger behind them. the bus stops and horrified people go running off the bus. the man who had been stabbing the passenger repeatedly continues to do so until this individual's head is completely severed. the man is held on the bus until police arrive and take him into custody.

this is by far the most insane story i have ever heard and this happened last night. i am utterly shocked at this, and i am a hard person to shock. just absolutely ape****. no other way to describe it.

I read about that this morning. That is straight up insane creepy. Like psycho horror movie creepy. Middle of no-where, ultra bloody murder. it'll be a movie in 6 months. ala chainsaw massacre.:eek:
 
i dunno man, thats the single most horrific thing i have ever heard in all my life.

even movies cant match the creepy-factor of that. that guy should be locked in a cage forever. truly an animal.
 
I wish I hadn't read that, pretty freaking disturbing what one human being can do to another. Lock him up and throw away the key.
 
just plain sick and tormented. Did the "perp" know the victim or was it just random act of violence, either way it is just "creepy". Next time I ride on any bus I will make sure I stay awake. OR ELSE...............................:eek:
 
That is so disturbing. A friend sent this to me a couple of days ago. Our Society today...

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.

i disagree with most of what youve said there. all that we have done is magnified what was already there. with a greater population comes greater magnification of the countless traits of humanity that have been stable and unchanged over countless generations. the only thing i do agree with you is there is a growing disparity between our strengths and weaknesses....brought about by increased production and technological capabilities. in order to raise ourselves to new heights we must be aware that this comes hand-in-hand with new lows. there could have been no haulocaust in 2,000BC. but also, there could have been no cure to the plagues that wiped out entire sections of our populace in those dark times.

but at the heart of the matter still exists one individual. that individual is you and me and everyone else on this planet. you are kidding yourself to think that we are in any way different from an individual born, raised, and dead hundreds, or thousands of years ago. we have not evolved since then, nor have we de-evolved. we are just playing in the sand as per usual. we just have bigger toys. so when you say "taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints" i disagree whole heartedly. i can see your point of view on the rest of it, but i still disagree. it has always existed. we have only magnified it as we grow in number. percentage wise, i would venture out on a limb to say that most of us would not decapitate an innocent man for no reason.

the level of dementia in our world may have increased, but if that is the case it is only because of greater evils that exist today which are a by-product of the same process that has brought us our greatest achievements. evil still exists in the same percentages as it did way back when, it is just that now evil is more evil. but if you were to eradicate the growth of evil in our history you would also have to eradicate the growth of good....which is undeniable in the past 500 years or so.


the same forces that brought about the growth of the effectiveness, efficiency, and level of evil are the very same forces that brought about the increase in the effectiveness, efficiency, and level of good in our world. Those forces are good old fashioned human trial-and-error; curiosity; innovation; and dedication....combined with two elements of our existence: time, and human nature. human nature is good and it is evil. it has never changed. nor will it ever.

btw im actually an optimist.

P.S. you touch on a lack of humanity in humans today, in your post. I don't dispute that. My argument above is that it has always existed (only with a greater magnification for the reasons I've mentioned above, which makes its existance more evident). Also, we have only lived in one historical era so our personal experience is extremely limited.

it is all just my opinion so nothing hard and fast obviously. but food for thought anyway...

i was absolutely shocked when i first heard this. unbelieveable how much you really cant trust anyone. way too many people out there who just need a reality check. i cant understand it. he should have just done that to himself to see what it was like if that was his intention. there is no need to hurt others. i too put this among the top for one of the most horrific things i have heard about with what humans do to each other.
 
Forget locking him up, just put a bullet in his head and be done with it. The world would be a better place without him in it.
 
There is so much suspicion and mistrust. We recently moved into a new neighborhood and the community mailbox is on our property so everyone walks by our house to get their mail. I approach people as they are walking by to introduce myself and "meet the neighbors". The looks of concern as I walk toward these people is frightening. They are really scared "What does he want?" After I introduce myself and chat with them, they open up and become very friendly. What concerns me is the initial aversion and fear that many people seem to have in interacting with others.

Personally, I think that's goin' easy on him at society's expense, though I suppose with all the appeals a death sentence is no cheaper. The irony is that this guy is clearly nuts, so you can expect he will plead insanity and spend time in a pscho ward, not a prison.

If he is isane(duh) then I say take his brain out and keep if for scientific study, Then Burn, draw and quater, tar and feather the rest of him...might be remotely as inhumane as what was done...

Then again maybe I'm wrong..
