does an oil filter fit the same S1 and S2?

I went to a local garage and got oil and filter to change them. When I got home I noticed that the new filter is shorter and a bit wider. It is a Mann filter and after checking their website it states a single filter model for all FZ6. Do both versions of FZ6 use the same type of filter? I mean, are they interchangeable? I saw that HiFlo and K&N have different filters for S1 and S2. I didn't even try to fit it as I might return it. The guy from the shop insisted that his "software" states this filter for all FZ6 models. What should I do?

I've never here of that brand but if they say it should fit a fz6 then it should work, and yes they are all the same through the years.

I can't find any Amsoil in my country, only Mann, and some of the rest. Because is just an oil filter I didn't try to get the best one, I really don't care that much. I replace them every 4-5000 km anyway.

You may not have been trying to but you kind of did get one of the best. Mann and Mahle are the OEM suppliers for VW/Audi, BMW, Mercedes and a few others, usually cost a pretty penny next to wix, purolator and fram. Didn't know they had moved into the motorcycle buisiness. Quality is a bit above wix and purolator in terms of construction and specs, anything is better than fram ime. Happy riding

FWIW fram is one of the worst ones you can buy
