Evil Mike Vs. Good Mike

Anyone see in a recent magazine how one guy suggested (when someones swirving towards you) to actually try and move towards them (if its inevitable) so that instead of being hit really hard from a bad angle you kind of hit them running parrellel and lessen the hit as much as possible?

God I explained that bad, think it was in Rapid recently

I can see how changing your angle of impact being a good idea if you can manage it...as both Mike and i did in our recent foray's into full contact sport with a 4WD each....so i see where this guy could be coming from....

I understand the theory too, I just hate to admit I'd be in a situation where I couldn't get out of the way :(

Just to change the subject a bit:
I had some total idiot today pull out infront of me into a roundabout which I was already in/had right of way, then do a really tight turn just to cut me off totally, then be stuck there because the stupid nob didn't bother reading the traffic and realise oh look its banked back nowhere to go (I would have been fine since I wasn't going all the way around and my exit was clear). Sometimes feel like I need an air horn for such occasions

Unfortuneatrly, some of us have been in accidents where you cant get out the way....it is a everyday possibility on a bike...one which i am sure we all think about...or should.

As for the Airhorn....lots of people install the ol stebel horns...ozfazer has got one....

Yup...we have 4WD drivers running scared:eek:. :rockon::rockon::rockon:

Points go on style, size of the 4WD and whether you can stay on...also a reference to damage is used as a multiplier for points, somewhat like the difficulty thing in diving.

Cheers
Mike

You forgot the injury factor, there's gotta be some points there for the pain!, oh, and the "inconvenience" factor to ya mates....which we both scored reasonably well on...

LMAO .

I knew it...I knew it...this just confirms it. You guys are crazy as hell and tough as a boot

The dealer I got my bike at really worried me the day I turned up on it to ask about after market exhausts and, after seeing me arrive and park it, the first thing they said in response to my exhausts query was "Ok thats for a R6 right"

It's not really a warranty job anyhow...lol...I'm pretty sure they'll have a clause in there that covers them in case you take an instant dislike to a 4WD and try to kill it:spank::spank::spank::D

Dont worry, jusat cause they are a dealer, doesnt mean they know what they are doing...have had many instances of dealership's not knowing what they should...

Yea after past experience I'm hoping to do as much work myself as possible, both to save money and learn as much as possible as well as to avoid someone else stuffing up my bike :P

Always a good practice to get to know your ride so you know the instant something's a little skewwy.

Most of the superficial stuff is not that hard...just consult the instructions if all else fails....

Plus it's a great way to waste an afternoon...

Well in my case it will probably more than just an afternoon, I normally go very slow until I am really sure what I am doing because I have a habit of breaking things :D
Oil/Coolant/Dot Fluid changes I'm already familiar with as well as most consumables, but I'm really looking forward to working on this bike since my last bike while cherished was very old and despite my best efforts, not in the best condition! (visually at least)

I know that you can rack up alot of $$$ worth of damage easily just by a simple drop, but is there much mechanical damage to your oldie Ozzie?

LOL...Wasn't dropped, so only the bits that got sheared off are knackered.

New rearsets (need 'em for the track anyhow) and some devcon work followed by some milling and the new pickup rotor cover can go on. At that point the bike is rideable again.

Won't quite be the same as new, but that won't bother me when i'm hooting round Mallala like a maniac...lol.

Cheers
Mike
