I'm having a heck of a time getting the fork seal clip removed. Any tricks to try?

Make sure its nice and clean above the c-clip. Perhaps some brake cleaner and some very fine steel wool JUST to knock off any corrosion on the outer fork leg, blowing out any crap with some air would help as well....
Should the seal be poking up a little, tapping very gently on the seal, where the c-clip is should help... It may be protruding up some grabbing the clip..
It needs to be spotless anyway when the new seal goes back in....
