I changed my 1992 year xv250 handlebars with a Fz1 oem handlebar for some more sporty look.

This is my first bike before i got my Fz6 and i still ride it with pleasure.
Still looks so young and now younger with a new drag riding position.

What do you think?

Looks great! Do you feel a bit "folded over" now.. with forward controls and bars in a relatively forward position?

Yes, it lost some of its comfort may be with a little bit folding forward position. I can't sit back and relax as before but now it feels you're more close to the bike and respond is better.
I've always liked mountain bikes compared to city bikes.
After this mod. it's more like a mountain bike :)
Mirrors view is not good as before, i should find better options for mirrors.

I liked it so far, may be later i turn back to the old bars. Who knows.

its nice to try new things, if you keep this bar, the speedo needs to be located in a better place. now it sits under the handlebar and does not look nice.

Speedo view is not so good i know. But When i lean a little bit more forward,
i can see it all. In normal position i can see after 20km/h.
Relocation seems difficult to me.
May be i can just turn it clockwise a bit to see them all :)

looking at picture 3..

you can drill 2 pieces of flat metal (that are a bit sturdy so as not to flex when tightening them) that are about 3 or 4 inch tall ( a body shop might have some scrap metal that you could use). drill both ends. one end inserts in the yoke where the original braket is attached, and the speedo then is attached to the metal pieces. there is not a lot of fab work involved. you need a good drill bit for metal and a couple of extra bolts to hold everything in place. (you might want to check the speedo cable etc if it is long enough for such an extension).

i like your idea of the drag bars it makes the bike look meaner, but me personally i prefer comfort:D
