I wonder what the real world correlation to this test is?

"Energy reduction in a lower speed crash on flat anvil"

It seems like a test where the shell comes out unscathed thus your neck takes the impact? IDK... most dont seem to get good ratings here or the ability to not dribble like a basketball...

Not really new, but you are right...

Here is the british equivalent, between the two most helmets should be covered!

Surprisingly a lot of Arai and Shoei rate pretty poorly

Yeah I always cross check with SHARP. I like SHARP because it actually shows you the weakest and strongest areas of the helmet. Not that it matter much for me since I won't compromise on one area or the other but it's nice to see.


I think that it's important to get the best protection you can afford. Looking at SHARP you can see that there are cheaper helmets that don't cost $400.

Most modern helmets will protect your noggin quite well. It's the fit and finish that helps define the cost and that shows up after many 500 mile back to back days. Most times you get what you pay for.
