Help! Recharge battery on 06 now broken fairing

Read the shop manual BEFORE you start work on your bike. You find out where all the bolts are before you touch the bike......but like you said...who cares ..its only $40 :)

I'll look through the service manual I am pretty sure it actually said to remove the inner fairings / panels though. I'll check again :)


Yup, specifically says to remove the inner panels.

Removing the fuel tank
Seat
Front cowling inner panel (left and
right)
Fuel hose
Fuel sender coupler
Fuel pump coupler
Fuel tank drain hose
Fuel tank breather hose (except for CAL)
Canister hose (for CAL)
Fuel tank
Fuel pump

The service manual is very good, but there are a few tricks you can learn from the forums.

Note that I never bothered to clamp the drain tubes.....
