White&Red quite the pucker moment huh? I've had the misfortune of riding with far more experience bikers and had some of those, I've relaxed quite a bit and no longer try to push it as hard.
I haven't been down yet but I almost wrecked on Sunday on my regular loop of backroads, scared me quite a bit. I had a station wagon pull out in front of me on the straight, I could have slowed down in time but it was a passing zone anyway so I gunned it to get around before the oncoming car got there (plenty of room), unfortunately as I was veering into the right lane after passing I let off the gas just as I hit an invisible bump in the road which initiated a tank slapper. It was one violent slap, I grabbed hard and pressed with both hands while giving it gas and it stopped immediately. No time to think, it happened in an instant and then I was fine. Mild heart attack after the fact, do any of you guys have steering stabilizers?
