So I just bought my first bike which is a fz6 2006 and I didn't see the broken frame part until I removed the seat, I was so mad but oh well I have to repair it.. I just wonder how it broke? The bike was dropped but the bolts don't line up on either side, It's like if the suspension was way to stiff or something I have no idea.. What can I do? That's a hurt piece.
You may be able to find someone capable of welding aluminum and making an attempt, but if it took an impact strong enough to do that, the rest of the frame may have other issues as well. A capable welder won't be cheap and the frame can be twisted, bent and / or otherwise weakened.
The way I see it, your other options are part out to get the money back, shop for another frame and swap everything over, or shop for another FZ and keep this one for parts.
Maybe someone has other ideas.
Otherwise, you would remove the rear shock to align those holes and bolt through. Then re-install the shock. There's tube videos on how to do that much.
 
I thought the same thing but I can't see where the bike would be bent, and can it even bend since the frame is made of aluminum? I'm so sad because I figured that to fix it, it would take the whole bike season. I tried to find if anyone had the same problem with their bike but none were broken and misaligned.. Might finish as a part bike😅

Unfortunately aluminum can bend and flex. The frame and engine are designed to be integral as one frame. This damage is likely the result of abuse and it might be hard to prove when this actually happened or if the seller was aware of the damage.
 
Awh man, my last hope is that someone can weld it up real good or else I'll have to keep it as a parts bike sad days man. Otherwise I find a cheap frame but I doubt it..

If that is weldable The frame should be removed so the aluminum casting can be brought to a specific temperature before welding to make the best repair, Yes, you can do it a different way but.....
If there is an alignment problem between the frame halves, it should be established that any alignment shift can be corrected first.
 
I don't think the frame could be that bent without signs of impact damage. I was thinking that it is possible that the two halves of the frame could become misaligned. Perhaps bolts ore lose and/or missing. Who knows what previous owners have done to the bike....
 
So I've tried lifting the front end of the bike, it alignment itself, since there is so much weight in the front and in the back they are folding in the middle Since there is no bolts in the middle part of the frame. Should of thought about that. If you say the peice is weldable (which I have no idea what kind of material it is) I will bring it to a professional place and get it fixed up. This should fix my problem for the broken peice, then I'll try to lift it back up to align the holes, if it works imma be so happy! I'll keep you guys updated, I'm gonna see tomorrow if they can do it!
 
Frames can be found on Ebay, Craigslist, Salvage yards that do bike parts and other market places. They average around $400.
The material is cast aluminum. While I know aluminum can be welded, I'm not so sure about cast. Good luck there. I'm not a welder. Try an online search.
I meant to take a better look of the area today, but didn't get there. I'm pretty sure in as a desperate measure, a piece of steel could be bolted to the frame in some fashion or other that would allow the subframe to still be attached, but that is some school of hard knocks engineering department stuff I'm thinking of, and this if it could be done, may still not be rideable if anything else is amiss.
 
Welded it back together looks so good, put back the frame to it's place! Then I go to bolt back the rear frame and I can't get it to line up, so I remove completely the rear frame and end up seeing this, I'm lost for words how it's sad to see how it cannot be repair unless I can bend it with heat or something but it seems impossible from now on, got any suggestions or should I try to make it bend with heat?1000010272.webp1000010257.webp
 
Nice job on the welding. It's hard to tell, but it looks like there is alignment with the holes on the frame. Maybe it's the subframe that is bent to hell?
 
Have you tried loosening the frame to engine bolts so that it might be easier to align? I may be that the from got torqued out of alignment.
 
Thanks but welds appear way better on photo haha! So when I took the pic everything was loose. The corner of the left side is really bent that's why it's not aligned correctly. So I forced a little when putting it back but I've been able to put everything back to it's place but with washers, now the only thing left to do is this concept I've done that should hold on ( it's the only bolt on the bike that isn't aligned for now) I'll try tomorrow to make that into reality1000010287.webp1000010282.webp1000010288.webp1000010286.webp
 
From that angle, it is clearly visible that the left side is twisted. The welder did that good a job on welding cast aluminum, what do you have to loose to attempt a heated bend? It's probably your best bet.
 
Mind you, the metal was already stressed to get to the position it is in now. Bending it back will cause further fatigue. Any cast metal is already more brittle than its alloys. Just something to keep in mind.
 
I figure my best bet would be to bend it back, but I have no torch to heat it and bend it, I could cut and re-weld but it would look weird and i have no idea if it could stress it more, That's why I thought of the tiny block "spacer" so it won't flex more since it's already in this position it just needs to stay still. I'll reach out if anyone can bend cast aluminum but I just don't want to break it..

Hoping for the best. Don't go too hard right away. Keep in mind whatever it's been through, something can still give. Go gentle on the roads and maybe take it for a performance and stress test (i.e. hard acceleration, braking, potholes, rail crossing, and other bumps) someplace safe, well dressed for it, and with back up help on hand.
 
For sure! I tried my bike and man do I love it! It's such a fun bike holy! I'll ride it in better since it's been raining so much, can't wait 😄 I've done about 100km with it and it's still like new. Let's hope for the 1000th km it's going to be as good haha 😄
