Recently bought a 2009 FZ6. Anytime I look it up (for parts, owners manual, etc.) I'm getting hits for 2004-2008 Fazer FZ6 or 2009-20xx FZ6R.
Any idea which of the two I should use as a reference?

Hi Teach,

Welcome to the forum!

What part of PA are you from? I grew up near Harrisburg.

I'd like to expand a bit on Scott's (Townsend's) advice. Please understand that the FZ6R is what Yamaha brought out to replace the FZ6. The FZ6R came out in 2009. It has a full fairing, sits a bit lower, and has just about 30 fewer HP compared to the FZ6.

Be careful when you order parts online. Many systems do not list the correct year ranges for the FZ6 and will stop at 2008 or extend past 2009. Many systems will offer up parts for the FZ6R. The search engines think it's a close fit, I guess. Some parts might be the same, but I'd rather be certain I was working with the right model.

Good Luck!

Chris

(Dad's super tenere there in the back)

Kinda new to all this blogging thing but thanks for everyones help!

Just put on a Puig windscreen and fe kit, not pictured. May put the stock signals on the kit instead though just not sure if it's worth the trouble
