I know it's a little early, but a mate just emailed me and said he had two all access passes for the Phillip Island MotoGP round in October. So, I wanted to investigate what it might involve and about how much it would cost to fly over from the US. Just doing a brief search it looks like I would need to fly to Sydney then on to Melbourne. Do the folks that usually attend this race normally stay close to PI or more towards Melbourne? Are most of the hotels booked well in advance? Anyone know of any good deals?
Thanks for any help and this just might be an opportunity of a lifetime. I've already seen two races this year, COTA and Indy, so this would be the icing on the cake!!

You need to stay on Phillip Island. Book now - accommodation books out up to a year ahead of MotoGP but with Stoner out, the crowds will be down slightly.
Also, winter clothes......
