Not exactly how that works, like i said imo some things are that were invented for cars should stay on cars but if you want to put you and your bikes safety in acme electronics instead of actually taking 90sec to check out your bike...go for it and good luck too ya!

TIREGARD 2 WHEEL TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
I have had this one for 2 years and works great. The reason I got it was because I had ruined 2 good rear tires. I had unknowingly picked up a nail at highway speeds and didn't know my pressure was down until the bike got squirrelly. By that time the tire had overheated and belts seperated. I still check with a gauge once a week but I glance at the monitor frequently while on a ride. By the way, no nails (knock on wood) since I installed it. Takes all of 5 minutes to do. I put the monitor on the dash with velcro tape. Just a side note: I think LVNeptune was asking about which one people recommended that have them, not whether or not he should install one.

Appreciated, only reason I didn't go with that one is because it is an external monitor and doesn't measure temps properly. However, if you trust it for just PSI that's good I suppose but I don't mind spending a bit more
I thought those guys were jerkin' me around. I didn't get the swap-outs like they said, and I've deflated a tire and driven a mile once a month or so since, just to make sure everything's working. It is. But all the energy I spend double-checking the system is just as much work as I would do just to check the pressure. ????
Also, using a device like this allows you to read your HOT psi and temp so it can help you there as well. Especially if you are riding and puncture but it's slow and you don't notice it will show the psi's slowly dropping and can help you from a blowout
Now I see merit in that. It sounds like, unlike the system in my car, which is pretty much a dummy-light situation, that system tells you the pressure at all times? That might not be completely worthless, but it still behooves one to double check it for accuracy and updated pressure data about as often as you'd check tire pressure. At least, that's my opinion. Or maybe I'm just so hopped up about my 90 degree valve stems (http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-mods/41508-90-degree-valve-stems.html#post448845) that I want to use them all the time?

Spend what you want but this one has always been within .5 psi of my hand held gauge and 2 degrees F of my laser gauge.
