RPM Wiring

Hi, I recently bought an aftermarket gauge for my FZ6 S1. I've successfully installed it, but the RPM, engine warning light, temperature, and immobilizer light aren't working because, as far as I know, those functions use data from the ECU.

My main concern is the RPM signal. I tried connecting the RPM input wire to the crankshaft position sensor (CPS), but it displays an incorrect RPM at idle—about twice the actual value, so I suspect it's reading a double signal.

Would it be safe to connect the RPM input wire to the ignition coil trigger wire instead?

Yes, the aftermarket indicators use the coil as the source for RPM signal (square wave). There should be a setting to choose a 4 cylinder engine.
