So who plans to do some touring this summer???

wouldn't it be cool to plot where all the Aussie members are on a map then pick a place that is in the middle and meet up?

Nice thought....and it has been discussed at length before...but Logistically, it is a nightmare...still, nice to dream.

On a different note...going for a nice 1500km tour next weekend, Jess and myself are off to the Grampians from Saturday morning, through till monday Afternoon..

Ride there on Saturday, hang out in the Grampians on the Sunday...have a bit of a look around, then ride home Monday morning...

I love the Grampians...just far enough away to make a really decent days ride, and there is no phone reception in the Grampians! Perfect!

Lol! It is very rare that Jess get's 3 days off in a row...so we gotta "make hay while the sun shines", so to speak!

Is still a logistical nightmare, organising the kids, as i normal have both on a Saturday, and the big bugger on Sunday's!

Due to the fact that all QLD's long weekends fall in the 1st half :spank: of the year & im still not long in my job I think it'll just be day rides with the Bris Fizz boys :cheer: Although there could be a ride out to Mt Isa  to visit friends around xmas  Lots of straight roads , Emu's , Roo's , Dingo's , Dust , Heat , straight roads , ohh yeah & did I mention HEAT :shakehead: Australian travel maps, street directory, driving directions & aerial photographs - Whereis.com

Alot of it is work dependent :spank: (only started new job beginning of Aug)

But it does look highly likely will be making it to the Hunter Valley for a few days. Early next year hope to go back out to the gemfields of Qld (back into the stinking hot tropics).

Other than that, my usual day rides (which have been lacking alot this year), hope to get one in this weekend if there is money left over after dealing with the Ten's little **** up yesterday.

QLD Gemfields mate? I used to stay out at the Willows Caravan park, just out of Emerald when I was a youngster. Every Easter, we'd camp up there (me, my bro, and MA & Pa). Used to love it. Lucky to see another person all day outside of the park, and then back in the evenings for some table tennis and bingo on Tuesday nights:D

I'd love to get "out and about", but not much time off hampers that idea. I'll be working through the Christmas shut-down too, so there goes any chance of getting a ride in then... Unless I go out on Christmas day... (Hmm, wonder what the family would think of that...lol).

The Grampians sounds like an awesome ride, will have to do that with you one day!!!

Yep, the ride to the Grampians isnt very interesting (No real twisty bits), but it is an easy 560km's...PERFECT for a decent day's ride...

But the real fun is in the Grampians, some great Twisties to play on up there, with the only real issue...bloody roo's! especially first thing in the morning, and near sunset...especially in the National Park area of the Grampians! Mikey will tell you, he had a very close encounter with a big red in the Gramps!

But, yes Dave, you should do that ride with me one day...

And as for riding on Christmas day....just tell em you are going to get more apple sauce.....

Mrs Disco's sister & hubby live out at Emerald, good reason for a big one day ride in the hot north/central Qld weather (plus it serves as a lil bit of training for another ride I got planned for the day I buy a new Ten).

Very different people when you get out to the gemfields mind you....
