Actually, mine starts a tad faster when hot. Not a half second on the button cold,-maybe 1.5 seconds...

^^ +1 Same. About two skips when hot.. ... Even with piggyback fuel controller and timing mod.
When ambient temps hit 90°F the Italian and British bikes were grinding for a 10+ secs while the little 600cc Jap bike was ready to Rock N Roll! :thumbup: Blah

I guess I haven't noticed any differences in hot/cold start, but I live in a pretty stable microclimate, and I've got a Lithium-based battery in it, which might make a difference.

Lead-acid technology can die in a fire. I really don't get why that's still the default.

[MENTION=20175]CADMAN[/MENTION] Haven't heard back on your problem but want to add that sometimes the starter itself may have an issue. It might pay to pull the starter and inspect the brushes and armature to see if there is unusual wear or debris that may cause the problem.
